This past week, kids from Junior Club joined the Thursday evening program that Paul and David have set up, for teens to spend an evening out on the IC37s. From up and coming sailors to those who want a different experience, most with only experience on dinghy boats, sailing on the IC37s was a whole new experience.

Rain or Shine

The perspective of those outside the Canada’s Cup team and crew, offers a vantage point that may not be seen by those who are out sailing week-in, week-out.

While the training schedule for the team is a rigorous one, one could think that sailing on the fast Melges IC-37s week after week would be a constant adrenaline rush. While it may well be, there’s also the dedication of the team that is not lost on those watching from the front lawn, or out on the water.

An Invitation to Support The 2021 Canada’s Cup Defense Campaign

With the 25th Canada’s Cup being hosted by RCYC on September 2nd to 5th Team Defiant, representing RCYC in the defense of the Cup, seeks your support.

The campaign budget is substantial, and this does not include the two Melges IC37s Defiant and Vigilant that have been made available by the generosity of Members Paul L’Heureux and David Howard & John Hele.

The Youngstown Yacht Club is the official challenger this year.

Vigilant

Vigilant’s co-owners, David Howard and John Hele have experience with the fast IC37 boats after spending the 2019 summer season, racing IC37s that they chartered from New York Yacht Club in Newport, Rhode Island.
