At this time of  the year we are always contacted with questions about ice levels and when the ferries will be running. For those who are not aware the RCYC now has a web cam where you can check out the ice levels . In the mean time you can catch the Toronto island ferries. The Island schedule can be found here.  We are eager as well for the season to kick off, looking forward to seeing you on the Island!more

David Ogden and David Jarvis of RCYC finished 3rd overall in a competitive 27 boat J24 fleet competing in Midwinter Championship in Davis Island, Florida sailing Buckaroo. Current world champion Will Welles, Cougar was 1st with 25 points followed by Robby Brown with 27 points. Buckaroo was the only boat to place top 10 in every race.  Buckaroo teamed up with U.S. sailors John Mollicone and Tim Healy in the event and trained with them in Florida leading up to the championship.       more

An updated 2015 Launch Form is available online. Printed forms are also available at Reception, though we encourage everyone to submit electronically if possible. Please save the form locally on your computer/device before filling it out, and save again before you hit the submit button at the bottom of the form. If you are using an integrated email solution (ie, Outlook), then your email dialogue will pop up with marine@rcyc.ca as the destination...more

Marine Services will be working 6 day weeks (Monday - Saturday) starting April 11, weather and ice permitting.
 
City Station launch is scheduled for April 24, with a weather-alternate day of April 25. We will not be scheduling any boat-launches on the Island for these two days.
 
Sailpast is again relatively early (May 16 weekend); please take this into account so that we can get your boat launched, commissioned and mast-stepped (if required) in a timely fashion.

Four RCYC Optimist sailors have been chosen to take part in the two day Volvo Academy event May 9th and 10th, taking place at the Volvo Ocean Race Village, Newport Rhode Island. This will be where the Volvo Ocean Race boats finish leg 5 of the grueling 8-leg round the world race. The Volvo Ocean 65’s are scheduled to finish leg 5 between May 4th and 8th, however with the fickle Azores located half way between the start (Itajai, Brazil) and the finish (Newport, Rhode Island) the team may see them finishing as they are taking part in the Volvo Academy...more
