GROUP FITNESS



Join us in the Fitness Studio where you will work hard, sweat, and relax in our 20+ classes per week. Whether you want to work up a sweat in a Cardio Pump class or stretch and strengthen in Yoga we have the right class for you.

All classes are included in the Fitness Section Fee.

Notice to Class Participants: Class attendance is being monitored to ensure minimum enrollment is being met. Classes not meeting a monthly average of 6 WILL be cancelled. We encourage your participation to help keep these classes on the schedule. 

The classes above are included with Fitness Section Membership with the exception of Specialty Classes** (extra fee applies).

Class Descriptions

Winter 2018

AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible)
5 movements, 25 minutes and you. That’s it! The challenge? How much can you do in 25 minutes? Push, pull, lunge, jump, and crawl your way through this trial of strength, endurance, coordination, and focus.
 
Aqua Athletics Classes Aqua Strength and Conditioning, Aqua Intervals
Due to the buoyancy of water, aqua classes will strengthen your muscles and improve your cardiovascular fitness without subjecting your body to additional wear and tear. Aqua training sessions are being used by fitness enthusiasts and athletes alike to improve conditioning and prevent injuries.

Barre Essentrics
Essentrics is a completely original workout that draws on the flowing movements of tai chi which create health and balance, the strengthening theories behind ballet which create long, lean, flexible muscles and the healing principles of physiotherapy which create a pain free body. By adding stretch techniques using the barre this class will lengthen and strengthen every muscle in the body resulting in greater joint mobility and fluid movement and functional strength. 

Circuit Conditioning
A cardio and conditioning circuit training workout designed to challenge your strength, endurance, mobility and balance. This workout incorporates individual stations timed in an interval style.

Cardio Pump
Burn fat and tighten your muscles with this blend of cardio and strength training using a variety of equipment like steps, resistance bands and dumbbells. This fun motivating working will lean you out and shape you up! 
Cycle – Indoor Cycling (and ABS), Spin and Sculpt, S.T.A.R (Spin, Tone, Abs, Restorative)
A fantastic heart pumping workout! Taught on a stationary bike you will climb, sprint, and train to motivating music with a dynamic instructor. And variety by combining abdominal work, weights and yoga in different style classes to give you a unique and effective workout. 

Pilates – Flow Pilates, Balanced Pilates
Pilates is a series of non-impact exercises designed by Joseph Pilates to develop strength, flexibility, balance and inner awareness. 

PiYo
PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. And, we crank up the speed to deliver a true fat-burning, low-impact workout that leaves your body looking long, lean, and incredibly defined.

Power Core TRX - 50-minute Power & Strength Based TRX Class
If you want to sweat, have fun, burn calories, and increase your muscle endurance then Power Core TRX is your class. We combine TRX training with Power moves like squat jumps. This mix of gravity resistance and movement provides the ultimate workout to train strength, endurance, balance, coordination, flexibility, power and core stability. Power Core TRX aims to push your limits in this high-intensity, 50-minute experience.

Progressive Seniors
This successive 8-week program is geared towards helping seniors develop all areas of fitness for improved and sustained quality of life. Actively working towards strength, balance, flexibility, coordination and kinesthetic awareness is the key to mobility and vitality as we age. 

Spintervals
This challenging and very effective class focuses on cardio and conditioning intervals utilizing aspects of HIIT, cycling and strength. Utilizing a variety of resistance equipment, this program is great for improving strength, overall fitness and fat loss. Intervals are based on timed repetitions and all participants are encouraged to achieve their own personal best. Spintervals meets the requirements of all levels of fitness in a very supportive high energy group environment. If you want results this class is for you! Only 12 Part. per class max. so we HIGHLY recommend you register online ahead of time.

Please reserve your bike in advance to ensure availability and allow for proper advance set-up.

Stretch and Relaxation
Join us for one hour of deep stretching. Every pose is held for 2 minutes to allow the body to sink into a deep stretch and state of relaxation.

TRX
Suspension training system uses body-weight and manipulates gravity to improve muscular strength and endurance.

Yoga – Hatha Flow, Power Flow, Kripalu
Focus your mind, body and soul to find your centre. Traditional poses and a variety of posture sequences will keep this traditional exercise discipline working for you. Whether you are focusing on posture, core control and alignment, flexibility, balance and tension release or just movement – we have a style that fits you.

Yoga Conditioning
This strength based yoga class incorporates light hand weights into traditional yoga postures with a focus on core stability.
