About our Club

Since 1852, the Royal Canadian Yacht Club has been Canada’s home for excellence in sailing, sports and socializing. With our two unique Clubhouses, seven dining establishments, and over 3500 Members, we’re one of Toronto’s premier private clubs and one of the Top 50 Platinum Yacht Clubs in the World.

We promote excellence in competitive sailing and sports such as squash, badminton, tennis, and lawn bowling—and we foster a lively social scene with family-oriented programming, Club socials, and upscale dining.
Internationally, our Club is recognized for our internationally regarded athletes and affiliation with prestigious regattas, having hosted the 2015 Pan American Games Sailing Competitions, the 2016 8 Metre World Cup and the 2016 and 2021 Canada’s Cup.

Our Club is home to Olympians, SailGP racers, and Members who simply love cruising the Great Lakes and beyond. In addition, our squash program is one of Canada’s largest, and our Members enjoy tennis, badminton and pickleball facilities. Whether you sail, swing a racquet or are looking to learn, you can refine your skills with lessons from our world-class Club professionals.

Offering the only free program for at-risk youth that combines building life skills, job training and sailing in a unique setting aboard one of their 35′-40’ sailboats. Through on-shore and on-water programs, youth aged 12-24, use sailing as a learning medium to develop confidence, leadership, teamwork, responsibility and positive work ethic.

DOUGLAS WRIGHT FOUNDATION

The Douglas Wright Foundation is a charitable organization devoted to fighting melanoma cancer in Canada by increasing awareness, educating the public about early detection and preventative measures, and fostering partnerships between likeminded organizations.

The incidence of melanoma has increased dramatically in Canada in recent years. Melanoma is also the most common cancer among young adults in the prime years of their life. Yet, the potential life threatening risks of melanoma are grossly misunderstood by Canadians.

Douglas Wright was an energetic and positive person that invigorated the lives of his friends, family, and his community. The Douglas Wright Foundation aims to embody his best qualities in the fight against melanoma.
