    • Wine storage and display for improved selection
    • Smart casual lounge space with access to service
    • Smart casual dining space
The work is being performed concurrently for efficiency and to minimize future disruptions to these Member-used spaces.

Work Underway:

Dining Room and Commodores' Room
  • Members will notice that hoarding has been erected in various locations throughout the City Clubhouse to isolate the construction areas from the active parts of the Club.
  • Our construction team has made great progress in these areas since demolition begun on June 5th. (Image: Dining Room demolition underway)
  • The wall separating the Commodores’ Room and Dining Room has been removed along with the finishes in the space in preparation for scheduled mechanical and electrical upgrades.
 Change Rooms and Lockers
  • The Change Rooms will have all of the lockers removed by the end of this week to allow for the removal of the fixtures and tile.
  • Thank you to those that emptied their lockers before the deadline. We appreciate the patience of our Members while we worked out some of the details in the first week of using the temporary locker spaces.
  • Taylor and his team worked rapidly to box up the remaining contents to ensure they were stored safely. Some of the lockers could have served as time capsules given the contents.
  • We expect the demolition to be completed by the week of  June 26th. With this we are on schedule for our completion of the project on October 6th.
Impact to Members:
  • There will be some noise as the demolition progresses.
  • Hoarding is set up around the Dining Room.  Members will have regular access to the Model room as well as the Canada Room throughout renovations.
  • Materials are primarily being removed through the emergency exit stairwells at the front of the building to avoid construction traffic in the open spaces of the Clubhouse. Exceptions are being made for some items that are challenging to maneuver through the stairwells.
  • All contractors working on the project have experience working in active clubs and we will adhere to good housekeeping and safety practices. For safety reasons, Members are asked not to enter areas under construction.

We expect materials to arrive on the Island in September. Certain areas will be utilized to store the materials and keep them safe; this is not expected to affect Member use of the facility.

Any questions regarding the project can be directed to, or to David Brightling. And as always, we thank Members for your patience as we work to improve your Club.
