Programs

Parent & Tot Program

The Parent & Tot Program is designed to introduce children between 6 months and 3 years old to aquatic environments.
 
The Parent and Tot Program (6 months - 3 years old)
SCHEDULE: Saturdays (30 Minutes) 9:45am - 10:15am
(Minimum 6 participants)

COST: $75
DATES: July 9th, 16th, and 23rd (3 weeks)
LOCATION: Island Pool

Certifications

Bronze Star

The Bronze Star award is the pre-Bronze Medallion training course.

It develops swimming proficiency, lifesaving skill and personal fitness. Candidates refine their stroke mechanics, acquire self-rescue skills, and apply fitness principles in training workouts.

Schedule: Sundays 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

COSTS: $300
DATES: May 29th - June 5th

Bronze Medallion / Emergency CPR B

Must be at least 13 years of age, or have successfully completed Bronze Star. The cost includes a Canadian Lifesaving Manual and certification fee.

Bronze Medallion teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water-rescue education –judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn tows and carries, and defense methods and releases in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types. Bronze Medallion is recognized as the waterfront supervisory certification for Ontario's Recreational Camp Regulation 568.

Sundays 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Bronze Cross/ Standard First Aid

Must have successfully completed Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid with CPR B. The cost includes the certification fee.

Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for all advanced training programs including National Lifeguard and Instructor certification. Bronze Cross is recognized as an assistant lifeguard certificate in Ontario Regulation 565 governing public swimming pools.

Schedule: Sundays 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Private Package Lessons

Individual Lesson

Swimming lessons are available on most days with the exception of the following dates:

Group Lessons

SATURDAY GROUP SWIMMING LESSONS
The RCYC Saturday Swimming Program will provide group lessons for various levels ( Group 1 Levels 1 – 5, Group 2 Levels 5 – 10). There will be a maximum of four children per group with one instructor.


SCHEDULE: Saturdays 10:40am – 11:20am
COST: $175
DATES: April 2nd - May 28th (7 weeks)
