Discover the RCYC Junior Racquets Program, welcoming kids aged 3 to 15 of all skill levels. Our flexible schedule on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays accommodates one, two, or three sessions per week, featuring 45 minutes of squash and 45 minutes of badmonton. Running from September 2024 to May 2025, our goal is simple: make fitness fun, forge lifelong friendships, and prepare children for a lasting life of racquet sports. Let's Get Started (LGS) | Ages: 3-4

Let’s Get Started (LGS) | Ages: 3 - 4
The LGS Program is the first step for a child entering into the racquets program. The program is designed to introduce children to club life and to the RCYC Racquets Program. Each week, children will learn basic ball skills, hand-eye coordination games and having a racquet in their hand.

Learn to Play Program (LTP) | Ages: 5 - 10

Squash and Badminton
The LTP Program is for children aged 5 -10 years old. It’s an introduction to both squash and badminton. There is 45 minutes of instruction in both sports.
This is a great combo, as it enables children to learn 2 sports at the same time and develop their racquet skills. Children can enter this program at any age. The basics are taught; grip, forehand, backhand, serve and rules of the game.
Games and strategy are introduced as they progress and can serve and rally.

Let's Play Program (LP) | Ages: 11 - 15

Squash and Badminton
The main goal of the LP Program is to get your child to play games and matches so they can continue to play either sport into adulthood. All the basic fundamentals of both sports will be covered and emphasized.  
Children can enter this program without prior instruction.
This program enhances social integration with their peers through a fun and energetic environment.

Competitive Squash Program (Ages 11+)

Competitive Squash Program (CSP) |Ages: 11+ |Bronze
The CSP Program is for the junior squash player who is interested in developing their squash skills so that they can compete, whether it be with a School Team or a local Squash Ontario/Canada competition. Court time will focus on more specific aspects of their game. The pros will work on player’s racquet swing, court movement, game-play tactics, and preparation for competitions of any kind.

To join this program, players must be assessed by the squash professionals.

DAY: Tuesdays/Thursdays 4:20 PM – 5:20 PM  
COST: $467 |$240 for one day

Elite Squash Program | Ages: 11+ | Silver
The Elite Squash Program is our highest level of program for our top juniors. Children in this program may be playing in Squash Ontario Tournaments, or in one of our Adult House Leagues. This program works on trying to get your child to be the best squash player they can be. 

To join this program, players must be assessed by the squash professionals.

DAY: Thursdays 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM 
COST: $400.00

Competitive Badminton Program (Ages 10+)

This program is focused on developing strong badminton skills as the player gets older and stronger. Players will work on racquet skills, on court movement, fitness, game-play strategy, and preparation for competition of any kind. Many of the players are on their school team and looking for some extra practice.

SCHEDULE: Thursdays 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
COST: $240

Junior Badminton Specialized Training | Ages 10-15

The goal of this new program will be to teach the participants who want to improve, the detailed aspects of badminton such as footwork, technique, and fitness that are required to take their game to the next level. Another big goal of this program is to cultivate the desire, interest, and passion for the sport of badminton.

This class will be limited to 6 so each kid can be provided with the ample instruction and attention they need to nurture their improvement.

The program will be taught by Daniel Huang, an experienced coach who is currently coaching at the University of Toronto’s athletic centre in addition to RCYC. As an avid badminton player himself, he hopes to bring his knowledge and passion of the sport to RCYC’s kids who are eager to learn.

SCHEDULE:  Sundays, 10:30 am – 11:30am

City Junior Tennis Program

New Program

We will be running a Junior Tennis program in the Sports Hall this Spring with coach Kyle.  This program will follow Tennis Canada's progressive tennis approach with a smaller court and slower ball to give kids a head start before our junior tennis camps start in mid June. Participants will learn the fundamental strokes and learn to put their new skills into live play situations.

TIME:  Tuesdays, 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Junior Summer Tennis Camps


Tennis and sports camps are designed for the novice and intermediate junior tennis athletes. Each day campers will learn the various fundamentals of Tennis ranging from grips, forehand, backhand, serve, volleys and game play. Sports and fitness activities will be incorporated as part of the regular schedule. Our program provides sound technical coaching, that instills a love for tennis and sports while focusing on fun and friendship for all ages.
