ADF Update: Olivia Mew
2019 Pan American Games
I am currently in Paracas, Peru, following an exciting week of racing at the 2019 Pan American Games.
The games have been an unforgettable experience, especially walking into the opening ceremonies with the rest of Team Canada.

The weather in Paracas has been cooler than expected, around 13 to 20 degrees, with a mix of marginal to strong breeze that predictably fills every afternoon.
The regatta started off with shifty conditions around 8 to 11 knots, which are my favorite conditions to sail in. As result, I performed well and placed 3rd after the second day of racing. The wind picked up for the rest of the week to 15 to 22 knots and I achieved 6th place overall. I am happy with the improvements I have made to my performance leading up to and throughout the event, especially to my high wind speed.
Next, I will have a few weeks in Toronto before I head off to the World Championships in Torbole, Italy, where I will have the chance to qualify Canada a berth in the 2020 Olympic Games. This major event would not be possible without the support of the Athlete Development Fund. I am proud to be representing Canada and RCYC internationally and would like to thank all members for their support, I really appreciate it!
