ADF Update: Carling Davies

This regatta brought together 33 countries and it was great to sail in such a large and experienced fleet. At the worlds, they split up the females and the males. I competed against 65 other females, the largest fleet I have experienced since transitioning out of Optimists at the end of last year. We had a variety of conditions but mostly windy when the Kingston thermal would come in. As a smaller and younger competitor, I enjoyed the challenge of competing with international girls and a very aggressive start line. Overall, I finished 24th out of 65 boats and top Canadian. This finish, my win at the Laser 4.7 North American Championship held in Brant Beach NJ, and Top Female (6th) at CORK International were the highlights of my season. The RCYC ADF fund has helped support my sailing career and I truly appreciate this.
