Name: Piper Howell

Class: Optimist

Age: 12

Thank you so much for the ADF support you’ve given me.

This past spring and summer I continue to train and compete in the Optimist class at local events and USODA events in Erie, PA and Grosse Point, MI. RCYC had five athletes compete at US Nationals at Grosse Point Yacht Club. It was a fun week. There was a one-day girls regatta and four days for the fleet champs (255 sailors!). My goal was to make it to gold fleet for the finals and I did.

August is busy because we are on the road a lot. First in Kingston for CORK International Optimist Regatta and then Canadian Opti Champs in Ottawa at Brittania YC. My biggest event this season is in October where I am very excited to be representing Canada at the Optimist North American Championships in Nassau, Bahamas where I will be competing against numerous sailors from countries all over the world. It will be lit.

Thanks again for your support!
