ADF Update: Bonin Sailing

Hello RCYC! It’s Sam Bonin here from Bonin Sailing updating you on our 49er Campaign towards Paris 2024.

Over Christmas break, Will and I participated in a 3 week camp in sunny Miami, FL with an 8-strong Canadian skiff team. This camp concluded with the 2019 Skiff Midwinters where we finished as top Canadian boat! Competing against past Olympians, gold medallists and World Champions in extreme skiff conditions truly tested our ability to keep the mast pointed upwards and our boat moving in the right direction. We were able to execute everything practiced and even more; surpassing our expectations of results and performance. We know the mistakes we made are clearly identifiable and will be resolved with more practice.

We would like to thank the RCYC and the Athlete Development Fund (ADF) for their continued support. It is greatly appreciated to have support in our journey towards the 2024 Olympics.
